Prunus
About the Artwork
This work explores the quiet magic of an everyday companion: a simple plum. I am drawn not only to exotic blossoms and elaborate botanical studies that chart entire lifecycles, but equally to the so-called "ordinary" subjects that reveal their own universe upon closer look.
In this piece, the whole fruit appears lifelike and serene, its waxy bloom forming curious, almost celestial patterns on the skin. Beneath it, the same plum is shown halved—its translucent flesh catching the light, its textures shifting from soft radiance to deep amber tones. The stone, cratered like a lunar landscape, becomes a world of its own.
Together, these two views invite a slower gaze: a reminder that even the most familiar forms hold intricate, unexpected beauty.
